Mother's Day

Mother's Day was spent in Mesquite at the Virgin River Casino and Hotel :) Great Pool! Spent 80% of our time there. That makes the kids happy :) For the actual day of celebrating mother's, we attended the Eureka's Mother's Day brunch...I got a carnation. Kortlan got his fill of strawberry and whipped cream Belgian waffles.

some more lost pics...

I also found these pics taken back in April during Spring Break in Mesquite. Completely unedited.
Not like me, I know. I feel like being daring today. :)

the 5k

I thought we took pics...found 'em :) This was the 5k the kids and I participated in back in April, I think it was. It was at the school and I had the privilege of running with Kortlan...bless his sweet little heart. He tried so hard to get through that first mile...but towards the end I was practically dragging him. The girls took off right at the first and were way ahead of us, but we made it to the mile marker. The kids stayed there and I took on the rest of the run alone. I had never done that before...hardly ever run anywhere, for anything...it hurts. It hurts my legs (actually they go numb), my neck and most of all my lungs. I know this is because I am so out of shape and so I guess I did this to punish myself...lol...no to prove to myself that I could do it. I finished with a time of 42 and like 15 seconds or something like that. Jim figured I could have shaved of 10-15 minutes if I hadn't done the first mile in 25 min. Regardless, I accomplished something I never thought I could do. I don't think I will be entering anymore 5k's in the near future, but definitely something I would like to do again...just after much training and hopefully with my body in better shape.

Sleeping outside on the trampoline...I remember doing this every summer growing up. Sleeping under the stars and waking up to a bouncy new day :) I have to admit, however, doing it as a kid was a lot less worrisome than having kids and letting them do it...are they warm enough? are they getting eaten alive by mosquitoes? is someone going to jump the fence and take off with them? So Jim volunteered to stay out with them. Such a good daddy :)
5:30am: a very tired and semi frustrated hubby crawled in bed. Long night for daddy.
The kids, however, had a great time! They were awakened by the early birds at 5:45 and proceeded to jump and play, squealing and giggling loud enough for all the neighborhood to hear...and since our windows were open, up we got up, too. Not sure if we will be doing this again any time soon...well, at least not until I get the bird poop off the sleeping bags...

Thanks to Kourtney (Creative Design Queen) I took this little quiz to figure out my "Design Style"....

The results:

I am officially split in thirds .... goes right along with my multiple personalities =D

Kortlan's Baptism Day

My Tribal Daughter

On the last day of school, this is how Kendrie walked in the door....apparently, her teacher had a New Zealand "luau" and allowed the kids to "tattoo" tribal markings. Kendrie later admitted to perhaps going a little overboard :)
